Introduction: Anwin’s Dream Sending to the “Castle of Exiles”

Caught in some wizards effect targeting one of the local lords guests, he is transported to some other world. He manages to survive the ordeal having served the group as scout. All the things that he saw as scout the rest of the party did not has increased his ability to handle the strange and threatening parts of his own reality (+1 SAN). He also finds a group of like-minded souls in outlook and asks if he can join their group – a mercenary company known as Gide’s Gallants. After review of their Code of the Gallants, and an oath of service, he is one. Only Gide knows his full history, and still approves his admission, saying “we all have histories”. Gide only tells the rest of the party that Chalan may have enemies, like the rest of them, so be careful.

Dream Sequence

Dream 1: CY 9163, month 10 – It sounds like you are in a tunnel; the wind rushes all around you. Faster and faster the wind blows, creating a cyclone that envelopes you.

Dream #2: The vision of your dreams has you buffetted about, whisked up time and again into the cyclone – legs kicking but making no noise.


Chalan was supposed to become a member of the Salamander Guild in Oerdney when he had a change of heart. He had watched his sister die in a carriage accident that was caused by an assassination attempt done by the guild a few years prior. For years he made it his mission to infiltrate the guild and find out who was responsible. He did discover the gang running the area he lived in and managed to make contact, ingratiating his self but also getting his cousin killed in the quest for revenge. It took 2 years to get close and while he was a probationary member he stole a poison that he was to courier to the gang boss to accomplish the eradication of a wizard which was politically aligned against the guild and would not back down. The theft and delay of the killing was disastrous. Three guild members lost their lives trying to carry out the assassination without the poison and the gang boss was killed, and his underlings stripped of rank. A bounty was placed on his head though. He managed to avoid it for months until the house of his cousin’s friend was hit – the entire family murdered while he was away. He decided that the revenge was too costly and ran – west.

All the way to the ends of civilized lands, to a place called the Riverdans – a backwards out of the way place. There he posed as a servant with no family looking to move away from the sorrow and settle down. He was paid a paltry sum as a steward assistant, but food and lodging were paid. His foreign accent added an air of cosmopolitan accent to an otherwise provincial place. There he bides his time until he thought it was safe to leave. While there, he operates under the name Nalach.
